"Me" Time

Life has been so busy for me lately that I seem to be spending all of my time taking care of others - mostly my father and my children but there are also my students and other people who need my help. It' s nice to be needed, I think. But yesterday, another teacher reminded me that I need to take some "me" time. That means that I should take a little bit of time as often as I can to spend some time on myself. So this morning I went to a little restaurant downstairs and had breakfast. It was a real treat. I love to eat a cooked breakfast with eggs, sausage, potatoes and break plus coffee! I also read the newspaper. It was a relaxing way to start the day. Since I have to catch the bus at 6:30, I don't have time to cook breakfast at home. I hope everybody in the class tries to do something for themselves today! You deserve it!

Waiting for Winter to End!

I am so ready for winter to end! Every day I hope that spring will come but I know it won't come for a very long time. When the wind blows and I feel so cold, I wonder why I don't live somewhere nice and warm - like Victoria. I hate waiting for the bus in the dark cold morning and then coming home in the dark and cold! I hate wearing a thick heavy coat.

Oh, well, I'm just complaining. Really, I know that summer will come and then I will complain about the heat and how hard it is to sleep at night in the heat with the sun still shining. A wise man once said that happiness is not getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you have. What do you think?

Welcome to my New Class!

Hi, everybody! It is January and we are starting a new term. Blogging will be something new and interesting for you this term. As you can see, a blog is a place where you can write about something that interests you and people can go to your blog to make comments about what you wrote. Anybody who has your blog address can read what you wrote and make comments. Soon you will start your own blog. I can hardly wait to read the interesting things you will write. Today, I would like it if you could think about places you would like to go for a field trip. I need some suggestions so that I can start to plan. One thing I would like to do is go to a seniors' home so that we can talk to the older people about the things they have done in their lives. What do you think about that? Do you have other ideas?
