My poor little doggy

Nikki is seven years old - which is middle aged for a dog. She's black and very cute. She has finished taking her antibiotic medicine and is feeling well again. However, when I took her to the vet last time, he noticed that she has a broken tooth. It is a big tooth and it has three roots. The bottom part is broken off and the upper part has a big chip which is exposing the nerve inside the tooth. If we don't have it taken out soon, it will become infected and then it will be very serious. So, I think I should have it taken out. Do you think so? It will cost me $800 dollars! Oh, my goodness! I can't believe it? Do you still think I should have the tooth taken out. If it becomes infected, it will cost even more to take out and the dog will suffer more from pain. If I have it taken out soon, I have to pay at least $800. I don't know what to do. Please give me some advice.

My Dog is Getting Better

I'm happy to announce that Nikki is feeling much better. I can't even tell that she has been sick but she still has to have her antibiotic pill every night for another week. That's because to properly kill the infection inside her, she has to keep taking the medicine until it is finished. Every night when I get home, I get a piece of cheese and put the pill in the middle of it. Then I give it to her and she gulps it down. I think when the medicine is finished, she will still expect get get a piece of cheese every night! I'm going to try to learn how to put a picture on my blog and then I will show you what Nikki looks like! Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.

My Busy Life

It's snowing again today! I can't believe it. I was so ready for spring to come. I really wanted to feel the warm sun and see the grass start to turn green. I know it's too early but I'm still hoping. The snow and cold just added some stress to my already busy life. Yesterday, I had to take my dog to the veterinarian because she was sick. We found out that she has a urinary tract infection. We also found out that the infection was very bad. I knew that she was bleeding from her back end but I didn't know what the problem was. Now she is taking antibiotics and I hope she will get better soon. The veterinarian is expensive but our dog is an important part of our family. I wouldn't spend thousands of dollars on her. That's too much! But I did spend $285 on her treatment. What do you think? Is this too much? Would you spend that if you had a dog that you loved?
